Innisfree is a South Korean natural cosmetic brand founded in 2000 that shares the benefits of nature from the pristine island of Jeju for healthy beauty and pursues an eco-friendly green life to preserve the balance of nature.Using the wisdom of nature,the eco-conscious innisfree delivers truly healthy beauty to customers. A lesser known fact is that the brand has derived it's name from Irish poet W. B. Yeats' poem, 'The Lake Isle of Innisfree'.

The Face Shop established in 2003 is also a South Korea brand which is inspired by nature and believes that there is natural beauty in everyone and in every place on Earth. Their products source over 600 natural ,traditional herbs and ingredients from approximately 25 countries across the world. Both the brands have their fair amount of loyalists but this blog is aimed towards finding out which of their respective products have an edge over the other.

Both the brands have a formidable list of cosmetic and personal care ranges that use world class exotic ingredients known to work remarkably well on skin and hair. Innisfree markets their products as two broadly used ingredients. One is the Jeju Volcanic series and the other one is the Green tea range.Both these line of products have taken the Indian markets by storm.

One thing remarkable about these Korean skin products is that they can be customized as per your beauty concerns. The western personal care routine is designed to target a broader spectrum of benefits while Korean products are more niche centered. After all our skin feels and reacts differently each day and needs different nourishment to address these changes. Like a child who needs everything pure and wholesome, so is our skin care regime ever changing and ever adaptive.

Innisfree gives better results when one uses their products as a combination of more than one product like using their Green Tea seed Face Serum with Green Tea seed moisturizer or face cleanser. Honestly I have read many reviews on Amazon where women have expressed that in the beginning they were taken aback by the results these products gave but over a period of time, their skin got used to the ingredients so the effect and glow diminished sadly.

But one thing I really liked about Innisfree is that the package mentions 75.9% of green tea extract which is seriously a lot since it is one of their star ingredient. I have seen many brands boasting of a particular ingredient but when we see how much of it actually goes into the products is negligible.

Also instead of manufacturing date, the Innisfree products state expiration date which sets it apart from others.

The Apple seed cleansing oil is packed with the nutrients and beauty benefits of cold pressed apple seeds which are good to slug off extra dead skin.

If dehydrated skin is your enemy then the Jeju pomegranate essence is a Holy Grail for you. People with extra oily skin should opt for the Volcanic pore clay series. Out of all the sheet masks, I picked only ViT C because apparently its the most popular one.

The wide range of The Face Shop sheet masks, the Rice Water and White Seed Brightening range is a definite rage among Indian women. In fact the Rice water is such a popular ingredient that every Korean beauty brand has their own dedicated Rice water. The Koreans use Rice water for getting those mirror glass pristine skin. I feel the Face Shop range is a better choice for those whose primary concern is hyperpigmentation and dull skin. The products brightens and smoothens uneven skin tone.

It's definitely difficult to decide which brand is better but some of the products have an edge over the other like The Face Shop mask sheets are more known for giving better results while the Sleeping mask sheets from Innisfree are more effective. For people who are sensitive to strong scents should avoid The Face Shop skincare routine because the brand is famous for using lots of fragrances in their products.

If price is your primary concern then Innisfree is not the brand for you because their products are slightly more expensive than The Face Shop but the effectiveness of Innisfree products is unbelievable. Innisfree has a higher price range because of the specialized quality of ingredients that goes into their products which address a whole range of skin concerns.

Both the brands are good but some of The Face Shop products unfortunately do contain paraben and denat alcohol ( small percentage can be deemed halal).
